Networking Gains

My last post (too long ago) was about how I'm trying new networking venues.  I have to admit that my foot surgery and it's extended recovery have slowed some of the progress a bit, but there is one area that is going strong!

I have successfully lead my first two Women's Power Networking Coffee and Contacts meetings in Holly Springs.  I could never have gotten through those without Brenda Priest of Your Door and More.  She has years of experience with the Apex chapter and has filled many of the roles over her tenure.  I am so blessed to have her switch to our chapter and jump right into the fray!

I also want to give a shout out to Cindy Prince of Starkey Mortgage who is the WPN membership director and is a wealth of information.  She came out in support of our new group and even shared her fabulous rap version of a 30 second commercial.

My last thank you is to Marilyn Shannon, one of the founders of WPN.  She has supported and encouraged my idea of starting my own chapter and met with me weekly for about a month prior to the first meting to help me get it all planned and implemented.  Without Marilyn, I would never have gotten the courage to climb out on this limb!

So, with Go Holly Springs sharing their space and support, we have started to draw in women in business who the share common goal of networking.  I've already met some dynamic women who are making great strides in their areas of expertise, or branching out and starting up new ventures.  So has my new networking focus increased my business?  Not yet since this is a long term goal, but the immediate goal of more confidence and more girlfriends is immediately gratifying!
